What a great day! Sunshine, no clouds, 27 degrees Celsius (80 Fahrenheit), a breeze and smiling faces all around!
And it has been like this for the past 10 days. And the even better news: It's supposed to stay warm and nice for the next days, too.
So, my tours to Rostock, Wismar and Güstrow have been a huge success. I think when I greet my guests in Warnemünde as they come off the ship most of them don't really know what to expect. They might even be sorry that they haven't booked a tour to Berlin and got on a bus with about 600 others at 7 a.m.
I can assure you that that feeling is gone after about 10 minutes and by the end of the tour everybody is really happy to have seen the wonderful hanseatic cities with their fantastic Gothic brick architecture, historic buildings, charming cobblestone streets and relaxed atmosphere.
People are frequently astonished what a great day you can spend in the area and you don't have to spend hours in a bus and drive through half of Germany.
As Goethe has put it: "Warum in die Ferne schweifen? Sieh' das Gute liegt so nah!" (Why stray so far? See, the good is so close!)
